Jeff Walters

The Walters family has been in the Jewellery business for over 60 years. Jeff has been a part of the industry himself since the day he could push a broom in his father’s shop on Wyndham Street in downtown Guelph, Ontario.

In October 1998, a new and innovative Jewellery Store was launched in Barrie, Ontario. Jeff has been visualizing this new concept in the jewellery business most of his adult life. Eleven years later, Jeff Walters Diamonds has been able to transform the jewellery buying process into a pleasant, entertaining experience. The store and online gallery have been designed to make Jeff’s customers feel more comfortable and in control of their purchasing decisions.

Jeff says, "Having worked in my father's jewellery stores over the years, I was able to develop this new system of running a business. It became clear to me over time that customers want to be taught how to make an informed decision around diamonds. Hence, Jeff Walters Diamonds has become a learning environment."

All of the staff have been fully versed in the manufacturing techniques used to create his jewellery. Jeff personally takes them on regular mini tours of the factory so that they can receive a firsthand insight into the world of jewellery making and repair. To this he says, “Customers are the ones who really benefit from this activity of educating my staff. When my staff knows, my customers know. It's that simple."

In addition to being the owner, Jeff manages all promotion and advertising campaigns.

Another aspect that makes Jeff Walters Diamonds so unique is the shop’s third showroom which features showcases with no glass barriers. In this room, over a thousand sample rings are open for customers to touch and feel, without supervision. The designed jewellery in the rest of the store have price tags, so there's no mystery. Men, especially love this feature. “And the best part is,” Jeff says, “is that all of our designs can be altered in any way you wish, to suit both your budget and your sense of style.”
Jeff and his team use state-of-the-art technology to help you select or design that perfect piece of jewellery. An abundant selection of various items of jewellery is fashionably displayed throughout the shop. For those wishing to design their own style of engagement ring or other keepsake, experienced craftsmen produce your jewelry according to your instructions. "We help people make great decisions by providing a multitude of design choices and keeping them informed along the way, throughout the manufacturing process."

Everyone loves working with Shane. With over 20 years of experience in the jewellery industry, Shane specializes in designing diamond engagement rings and other items of jewellery from scratch. Customers appreciate the attention to detail and honest opinions Shane brings to the table.

Yvonne Sucharzewski

From the day we opened our doors, Yvonne was there with Broom in one hand and diamonds in another. Customers (and staff) depend on Yvonne to ensure our custom designs and repairs arrive at the store in time for the many deadlines we meet every week. She handles all in store accounting issues as well as all other administrative activities. Yvonne’s friendly personality is available throughout the week.

Anita Vermilyea

Anita began as a customer of mine way back in the Georgian Mall when I was running one of my father’s stores. We loved her so much that we hired her way back in 2000. From Engagement Rings to Tennis Bracelets, right down to the repairs, Anita has her hands in every jar.

Kendra Tarini

Kendra came to us in June 2009 as a co op student from our local Georgian College. As a marketing student, she has proven to be a wonderful asset to our Social Media endeavors. Her ability to learn fast has served many customers along the way with her natural skill sets.
